Abstract

After the transformation it underwent in the 1970s, capitalism is undergoing a new transformation today. In the first one, political economy ended and was replaced by indicator economy. In other words, there has been a transition from the rational production order to the irrational consumption order. In this context, due to the development of technology, it has been integrated into the human consumption pattern with communication systems and has constantly produced new meanings about its existence by constantly consuming. Thus, man has reproduced both himself and the system in a vicious circle. Nowadays, capitalism is becoming independent from humans due to the development of technology. The main subject of our study is that, depending on artificial intelligence, the system no longer needs humans to maintain its existence, in other words, to reproduce itself. The lose of the decision-making process of human in the system creates the possibility of declaring the independence of the system and excluding the humans who produce the system by their decisions. The aim of the study is to question that although it is difficult to predict the effects of artificial intelligence on the system in the future, in line with its current limited development, it is progressing in the direction of making capitalism independent from humans, the system will no longer need humans to produce itself. The study was carried out with a qualitative approach and document analysis method. It is important for the study to contribute to the literature that this radical transformation experienced by capitalism has not been experienced before.
