Release notes
What is new in the platform, newest first.
Version 1.6
- ISBN and legal deposit tracking for the publishing team: an ISBN request for every form and edition of a book, the publishing board's approval, and a record of the Ministry application and of the number assigned. The number is checked and written to the catalogue record automatically.
- The Ministry form's data is ready on a copy sheet in the form's order; with the browser extension installed by the institution, the form can be filled after the authorised person's own e-Devlet login. Checking and sending always stay with that person.
- For a book with an ISBN, the cover barcode (EAN-13) and the copyright page are produced in one click.
- After printing, the legal deposit steps (bandrol, six copies, EYDeS, the agency's copy) are tracked; reminders go out before the deadlines, overdue items are reported to the publishing board, and a digest comes every Monday.
Version 1.5
- Search: put words in quotes to find an exact phrase (“open access policy”); synonyms set by the administrators are searched as well, and the search box suggests titles, keywords and author names as you type.
- A built-in PDF viewer on publication pages: page turning, zoom and fit width, also on phones. Translated titles and abstracts name their original language.
- The Journals page can be filtered by field (science, health, social), the Books page by series and the Children's titles page by content type; journal pages link to the journal's subject areas.
- Signed-in readers find the publications they saved with “Save to my list” in the new “My saved publications” list. If you do not tick “Remember me” when signing in, your session ends when you close the browser, after 12 hours at the latest; where your institution has switched it on, you can also sign in with your institution account.
- Accessibility: screen readers read out the new result count when a filter or page changes in lists and search; the site needs no horizontal scrolling on 320-pixel-wide phones, and colour contrast in the panel was fixed.
- Editors can start a submission draft on behalf of a registered author; the author confirms the declarations and submits it. The editor queue shows submissions with approaching deadlines in their own box and can be sorted by due date.
- Authors are reminded a few days before a revision is due, and the production team before a production task is due; deleted submission drafts can be restored from the “Deleted drafts” tab.
- Journal editors can upload the journal's writing template in the panel, and authors download it from the journal page. An issue is published only with its publication date; index links must start with https.
- For catalogue staff: field-by-field comparison of record versions, a “Data quality” screen with CSV export, previews before bulk changes and category merges, retrying failed import rows, restoring deleted people and institutions, ROR lookup in the institution form and, when switched on, automatic DOI registration with Crossref.
- Institutional content and catalogue records can optionally be published only after a second editor's approval (four-eyes rule). Unpublishing, archiving, deleting and withdrawing need a reason of at least 5 characters; when mandatory two-factor authentication is on, it covers every editorial and administrative role.
- The site opens faster and steadier on phones: pages are sent compressed, stylesheets and fonts come from the browser on later visits, and content no longer jumps while a page loads.
Version 1.4.1
- The logo uploaded in Site settings and the chosen primary and accent colours are now used on the site and in the panel; readable shades for the light and dark themes are set automatically.
- News, announcements and events marked “Feature” are shown first in the lists and on the home page, with a “Featured” label.
- The “Send me the newsletter” choice in your profile now matches your subscription: tick it to subscribe, untick it to unsubscribe.
- Security: the file download limit can no longer be bypassed by downloading in parts; only the authorised editor can issue final decisions on submissions.
Version 1.4
- View and download counts on publication pages; “Most read” lists on the home page and journal pages; a “Most read” sort in publication lists.
- Early view: accepted articles can be published in a journal before they are placed in an issue, and are listed in their own section on the journal page.
- A new “Calls” page: journals' calls for papers and other calls, by deadline; journal pages show the journal's announcements and open calls.
- Advanced search: several conditions with AND / OR / NOT, searching in abstracts and a year range.
- Sign in with ORCID: people whose ORCID iD is set in the system can sign in with ORCID instead of a password; administrators can switch it on or off.
Version 1.3
- With the journal's consent, the published issues and articles of journals managed on DergiPark can be copied into the catalogue and refreshed weekly; the article pages name DergiPark as the original.
- Editors-in-chief can download the referee dossier for TR Dizin as a single PDF.
- An ODİS package for issues: full-issue PDF, article PDFs, a data sheet and referee dossiers in one file; issues can be marked as uploaded to ODİS, with reminders for those that are not.
- Reviewer rule warnings on the editor screen: too few reviewers, reviewers from the same institution, disagreeing recommendations.
- Journals can list the reviewers who agreed to be named on a yearly “Our reviewers” page.
- Optional TR Dizin data: journals' TR Dizin records, articles' TR Dizin citation counts and authors' TR Dizin profiles.
Version 1.2
- Journals managed on DergiPark can be set up: their “Submit” button opens the DergiPark submission page, and the journal page links to the DergiPark archive and writing rules.
- Richer journal pages: frequency and publication months, languages, contact details, former titles and boards grouped by role (with institution, city and country).
- Journals can publish their policies on their own page: peer review, open access, copyright, ethics for authors, reviewers and editors, use of AI tools and publication fees.
- Article pages show the revision date, a citation line and the declarations at the end (ethics approval, conflicts of interest, funding, author contributions, use of AI tools).
- A TR Dizin readiness checklist and article data checks for journal editors.
- Typesetters can copy the front-matter details of an article from the panel in one click.
- Crossref deposits now include the articles' reference lists.
Version 1.1
- E-mail delivery (SMTP) can be set up from the administration panel, with a test e-mail.
- A light / dark theme button, also before signing in.
- A new JournTech logo.
- Turkish characters show correctly in publication PDFs in every viewer.

- Production with copy-editing, typesetting, proofs and release.
- Institutional pages, news, announcements, newsletter and contact form; Turkish and English interface.
