Abstract
Born on March 1, 1933 in İnegöl, Ahmet Necdet Sözer retired from Uludağ University as a Geography professor in 1988. Ahmet Necdet, who was thought worthy of many awards with his poems, took his place in the world of literature with his 1977 published poetry book entitled Uzuneşek. It is understood that while trying to synthesize eastern and western cultures in his poems, the poet with poetry anthologies benefited from both tradition, modern poetry, and mythology. When his poems are examined, it is seen that the concepts of “always and nothing” are frequently used in poems. The poet deals with the aforementioned concepts together with the themes of death/immortality, finite/eternity, exist/absence, which have a meaningful relation between all and nothing, at the same time, it is seen that he interpreted by making use of mythological elements such as elixir, phoenix, Noah’s flood. In this direction, the aim of this study, which we will evaluate the concept of “nothing” under the headings of death, no one, absence, finite, Noah's flood and the concept of “always” as immortality, to exist, elixir, phoenix, eternity, is to reveal the poet's point of view on all and nothing concepts which he interpreted by using different disciplines of philosophy, mysticism, mythology, based on the aforementioned concepts and by taking the sources he feeds on into account to determine the poet's understanding of poetry, and to reveal whether he looks at the concepts in question as a continuation of the tradition or whether it brings a difference. The study will serve as a resource for researchers in terms of Ahmet Necdet’s understanding of poetry, approach that are all against nothing. Text-oriented method is used in the study. That the concepts of “always and nothing” are intertwined in the poems has been determined and it has been seen that while vanishing with death into "nothing", the poet always aims to live with his poems.
Abstract (Turkish)
Ahmet Necdet’in Şiirlerinde Tematik Açıdan Hep ve Hiç Kavramları
