Abstract

The fountain of the complex, composed of a mosque and a bath located at Akcami in the city of Mersin / İçel at province of Bozyazı, has been destroyed. The mosque has a harim and a son cemaat yeri, the bath is composed of an ılıklık, a bathing place, a sıcaklık and a water storage. It is not possible to give an exact date to the mosque, as there is neither an inscription nor avakfiye. However, taking into consideration the plan type, masonry techniques and other architectural elements, the buildings display similarities to 14th-15th century edifices in Anatolia. Therefore, we assume that the complex could have been built during the 14th- 15th centuries under the rule of Karamanidis in the region.
