Abstract
Purpose: After rheumatoid arthritis, patients face a wide variety of physical disabilities. The aim of this study is to inform patients with rheumatoid arthritis about articular-energy conservation techniques and use of assistive devices and to increase the use of these methods in activities of daily living. Materials and Method: This study was planned in the scope of Lack of Function of the Musculoskeletal System Course, Occupational Therapy Department at Hacettepe University. In our study, a three-minute video was recorded, which described the use of assistive devices such as modified chopper, thickened razor and the tool which helps to button up, and articular-energy conservation techniques. Results: This video was presented in the classroom. In addition, the video has been shared on Occupational Therapy Facebook page in order to provide access to patients. conclusion: Different disclosure methods can be prepared such as brochures, videos, training programs for patients. Assistive devices and articular-energy conservation techniques can be used. We think that these are important for patients to become independent during their daily activities and increase their life standards. Because of this, especially considering the inadequacy of information methods prepared in Turkish, we think that our work contributes a little to the literature
